You asked me to define-
either figuratively or literally,
in poetry or prose-
what I feel for you,
and because you asked
I will do it.
I'd do anything for you.
Kill the strongest zombie,
swim the longest tunnel,
and write the hardest poem.
Because despite the fact
that my best inspiration
comes from sheer and utter depression,
I am a poet.
My verse is my outlet,
my favorite means of emoting.
My poetry is my truth,
so when I can't say it
in person,
verbally,
I'm thinking it,
fine-tuning it inside.
So listen for my poetry
the rhythm of my life
my soul speaking
my heart screaming
"I love you!"
in every language possible.

I've thought before
that I was in love,
but it was never true
'til now.
No one else could ever measure up to you.
With someone else, I couldn't say this
so soon.
And I want to laugh
at my previous obsessions.
Before you, I didn't know what I was missing,
I didn't feel the true connection.

I've never felt this way before
and I'm thrilled
to have your heart in a handbasket,
your smile on my face,
your kiss in my memory.

You compliment my genuiness.
So genuinely,
here's what I'm thinking:
We are a match made in heaven,
so right for each other.
Two poets, two musicians
perfectly in tune
to their love.
I want to be
two artists made one.
Truthfully:
I love you!
I love you!
I love you!
I may be genuine
but I'm not realistic
and unrealistically:
I never want this to end.
You are the fire that keeps me burning.
Yours are the arms that keep me reaching.
You are the poet that keeps me writing.

I love you.
I can't say it more profoundly
because what I'm feeling
cannot be explained.
I'll just say
you send me soaring
and I never want to land.
So take me by the hand
and never let go.
Lead me through this life
as our dreams become reality.
Two hearts,
entwined forever
in perfect synchronicity.
